Blaze Partners is seeking a client strategist to join our growing team. Agency and/or client-side brand marketing experience is preferred. Successful candidate will possess the following qualities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and foster positive client relationships though outstanding service, effective communication and unwavering resolve in helping to solve specific business challenges.
  • Develop client-facing presentations, proposals and read-outs—build strong cases and compelling arguments using data, research, creativity and industry trends. Provide overall presentation support to partners and colleagues.
  • Create and manage milestones for assigned projects by monitoring job progress—track schedules, communicate changes and proactively address and resolve workload barriers. Work with partners and colleagues to forecast upcoming workload, identifying peaks and valleys.
  • Oversee project execution and promote a smooth workflow between internal agency functions, freelancers, partner agencies and clients.
  • Have a solid working knowledge of advertising production: print, direct mail, digital (banners, emails, social etc.) and video so that compelling solutions and accurate timelines can be created and adhered to.
    Participate in ongoing refinement of agency project processes, tools, software and policies.
  • Contribute to the development of the Blaze vendor/freelance talent network by participating in Portland networking opportunities throughout the year.
  • Uphold quality standards for the agency. Ensure that agency processes and documentation is followed. Maintain complete paper/email chain and files for all projects.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • BA or BS (or better) with 3-5 years experience in an advertising/creative/agency environment.
  • A healthy right/left brain balance.
  • Strong communications background, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, strong project management and time management skills.
  • Results-driven with strong analytical skills.

PROJECT MANAGER / OPERATIONS MANAGER

Working in conjunction with agency leadership, the project/operations manager is responsible for defining and refining agency processes, tools, software and policies and ensuring operational efficiencies of the account teams. This role will focus on internal operations and help manage select client relationships. We are looking for a team member who has a healthy right brain/left brain balance and can appreciate the creative process as much as efficient workflow processes, someone who loves tackling challenges, and who can apply strong critical thinking to all operational functions. This person will have a strong working knowledge of various media platforms and have a constant desire to learn more about client industries. Experience in digital and traditional media is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and refine agency project processes, tools, software and policies. Develop best practices and help educate all agency employees. Act as a connection between the technology platforms and their capabilities, and the business needs and marketing goals, to advise best approach and drive execution and improvement over time.
  • Contribute to the development of the Blaze vendor/freelance talent network.
  • Ensure that agency processes and documentation is followed.
  • Maintain agency storage solutions (server, cloud) and system for managing complete routing files for all projects.
  • Uphold quality standards for the agency.
  • Manage day-to-day relationship between agency and client with responsiveness and professionalism. Manage and promote smooth workflow and communication between internal agency functions and between agency and client.
  • Work with agency leadership and client strategist colleagues to assign hours and generate estimates. Review project briefs to ensure requirements are understood. Assist in development of proposals as needed.
  • Oversee project execution, coordinating with creative directors, freelance talent and clients.
  • Create and manage milestones for select clients and projects by monitoring job progress by tracking schedules, communicating changes and job status and proactively addressing and resolving workload barriers. Work with agency leadership and client strategist colleagues to forecast upcoming workload, identifying bulges and slower periods and tracking hours to forecasted budgets. Understand how capacity affects P&L.
  • Have a solid working knowledge of advertising production: print, direct mail, digital (banners, emails, social etc.), video so that strong solutions and accurate timelines can be created for jobs.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • BA or BS, 7-10+ years of experience in an advertising/creative agency and/or in-house agency environment (a mixture of the two is preferred).
  • A healthy right/left brain balance.
  • Strong communications background, excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, strong project management and time management skills.

Blaze is seeking a digital strategist with 2+ years of experience working directly with clients or helping to manage client projects. Agency, e-commerce and/or brand marketing experience is preferred, specifically in a role focused on search engine marketing. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • A strong understanding of search engine marketing, with specific emphasis on paid search, as well as search engine optimization (Google certifications a plus).
  • Proficient in reading analytics and the ability to identify opportunities and recommend optimizations to improve campaign performance over time.
