Maine Coast Waldorf School Logo

“They continue to be our ‘go-to’ strategists on many projects that were not part of the original scope because we are so pleased with the collaboration and results.”

Katie Pulsifer – Chair of Marketing & Communications Committee

The formerly named Merriconeag Waldorf School came to Blaze with two very big goals: help increase enrollment and improve retention. While every Blaze engagement is unique, the prospect of rebranding a school required a unique combination of empathy, diplomacy, change management and marketing acumen.

While a name change was not initially part of the scope of work, understanding the impact of the name on the school — its effect on awareness, accessibility and connectivity to its constituents —ultimately led us to recommend a modification. We clarified overall messaging, created a new logo and visual language that better reflected the energy and enthusiasm of the community, launched a new website, created admissions videos and reworked marketing collateral.

Since launching the new name and brand identity, enrollment inquiries across all grades have increased dramatically, and enrollment for the 2016-2017 9th grade class was up by nearly 150%. (We’ll admit it. We were tempted to hang these results on the office fridge.)
