Director of Client Strategy

Blaze Partners is seeking an experienced client strategist/account director to join our growing team. Based in Yarmouth, Maine, Blaze provides clients from Maine and beyond with impactful strategies and executions that drive sustainable growth, profitability and future readiness. Advertising agency and/or in-house marketing experience is desirable. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
  • Consistent and rigorous attention to detail

  • Interest in strategic and creative problem-solving (i.e., not always taking the obvious route)
  • Strong natural communication skills, both verbal and written

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and foster positive client relationships through outstanding service, effective communication and unwavering resolve to solve specific business challenges.
  • Develop client-facing presentations, proposals and read-outs.
  • Create and manage milestones for assigned projects by monitoring job progress. Work with partners and colleagues to forecast upcoming workload, identifying peaks and valleys.
  • Oversee project execution and promote a smooth workflow between internal agency functions, freelancers, partner agencies and clients.
  • Participate in ongoing refinement of processes, tools, software and policies.
  • Develop and contribute to customer and audience insights. Experience with MRI-Simmons is a plus.
  • Contribute to the development of the Blaze vendor/freelance talent network by participating in Portland networking opportunities.
  • Uphold quality standards for the agency through process and documentation.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
  • BA or BS (or better) with 5 – 10 years’ experience in a consultancy, advertising agency or client-side environment.
  • Previous experience as an Agency Planner, Insights Leader, Innovation Director or Strategist.
  • A healthy right/left brain balance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid project management and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to remain current on industry trends.

Digital Marketing Strategist

Blaze is seeking a digital strategist with 5+ years of experience working directly with clients or helping to manage client projects. Agency, e-commerce and/or client side brand marketing experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Self-sufficiency and a desire to work semi-autonomously
  • Interest in strategic and creative problem-solving (i.e., not always taking the obvious route)

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, build and execute digital marketing campaigns across a variety of platforms.
  • Deep understanding of digital technologies and solutions. You need to be able to understand and speak confidently about technologies, platforms and client opportunities.
  • Develop client-facing presentations, proposals and read-outs—build strong cases and compelling arguments using data, research, creativity and industry trends. Provide overall presentation support to partners and colleagues.
  • Develop and foster positive client relationships though outstanding service, effective communication and unwavering resolve in helping to solve specific client challenges.

Paid Search (SEM) Specialist

Blaze is seeking a Paid Search Specialist with 3+ years of experience working directly with clients or helping to manage client projects. SEO experience is a plus. Agency, e-commerce and/or client-side brand marketing experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
